Chicken breasts stuffed with mushrooms and cheese

ingredients:


- 4 chicken breasts


-100 grams of cream cheese


-100 grams of grated cheese (such as mozzarella or cheddar)


-200 grams of mushrooms


-1 small onion


-2 cloves of garlic

-A handful of chopped fresh parsley

-1/2 cup bread crumbs


-salt and pepper as needed


-Olive oil


- 1 egg (for baking)

How to prepare:

 
1️⃣ Prepare the ingredients: Cut the mushrooms, onions and garlic into small pieces. Cut parsley. Booking.

2️⃣ Prepare the filling: In a frying pan, heat a little olive oil and fry the onions and garlic until they turn golden. Add the mushrooms and cook until done. Add parsley, salt and pepper to taste. Cook for a few more minutes then remove from heat.

3️⃣Cheese mixture: In a bowl, mix the cream cheese with the grated cheese until you obtain a smooth texture.

4️⃣ Stuffing the breasts: Open the chicken breasts in half, without separating them completely. Fill it with the mushroom and cheese mixture.

5️⃣ Close and secure: Close the chicken breasts with toothpicks to hold the filling in place.

6️⃣ Breading the breasts: Pass the breasts in the beaten eggs and then in the bread crumbs to bake.

8️⃣ Serving: Take the breasts out of the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Then we remove the chopsticks and cut the breasts into slices. Serve with your favorite garnish.

If you prefer, you can fry the breasts instead of baking them for a crispy texture. For an extra touch of flavor, add spices like paprika or thyme to the mushroom and cheese mixture. Serve with a fresh salad or steamed vegetables to balance the meal.
