Ingredients:
- 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 6 slices of bacon, chopped
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
Instructions:
- 1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 2. Roll out the pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish. Crimp the edges if desired.
- 3. In a skillet, cook the chopped bacon until crisp. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Leave about 1 tablespoon of bacon grease in the skillet.
- 4. In the same skillet with the bacon grease, sauté the sliced mushrooms until they are tender and any liquid has evaporated.
- 5. Spread the cooked bacon and mushrooms evenly over the bottom of the pie crust. Sprinkle shredded Swiss cheese on top.
- 6. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using) until well combined.
- Pour the egg mixture over the bacon, mushrooms, and cheese in the pie crust.
