Ingredients:

  • 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions:

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

  2. 2. In a large mixing bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. 3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes until well combined.

  4. 4. Stir in the boiling water. The batter will be thin, but that's okay.
