Ingredients:

  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray.

  2. 2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  3. 3. Pour in the heavy cream and milk. Stir well and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.

  4. 4. Season the cream mixture with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat.

  5. 5. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle half of the grated cheese over the potatoes.

  6. 6. Pour half of the cream mixture evenly over the cheese and potatoes.

  1. 7. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cheese, and cream mixture.

  2. 8. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.

  3. 9. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.

  4. 10. Let the potato bake cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
